Cutting cuticle, yes or no?

In light of recent articles in beauty magazines advising against the practice of cutting cuticles, we wanted to address this issue to clear up any doubts that you may have. Cutting your cuticles serves a purely cosmetic purpose, just like waxing body hair. The risk of infection only occurs when unsanitary tools are used. We always sanitize tools with hospital strength solution as required by State Board.
Most states allow cutting cuticles by licensed professionals, including Colorado. Here is a list of States and their rules and regulations for manicurists compiled by Nails Magazine http://files.nailsmag.com/Handouts/NAILSbb10-11statebrd.pdf. You can always check the Department of Regulatory Agencies for Colorado, too, to keep up date on regulations http://cdn.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite?blobcol=urldata&blobheadername1=Content-Disposition&blobheadername2=Content-Type&blobheadervalue1=inline%3B+filename%3D%22Barber+and+Cosmetology+Cleaning+and+Disinfecting+Guide+for+B+%26+C+Industry.pdf%22&blobheadervalue2=application%2Fpdf&blobkey=id&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobwhere=1251925154311&ssbinary=true.

The majority of our clients prefer to have their cuticles cut but if you would rather skip this process, simply let us know and we will be more than happy to accommodate your wish.
